MAISONM

Founded in 2022 by choreographer and performer Emanuelle Soum, MaisonM takes a hybrid approach, combining choreographic experimentation and interdisciplinary dialogue.

MaisonM champions a unique approach, where movement, imbued with freedom and emancipation, draws as much from somatic practices as it does from club culture. This dual influence nourishes a choreographic style that is raw, liberated, and deeply expressive.

MaisonM explores major contemporary issues through powerful, inclusive hybrid works. The company tackles subjects such as resilience, myth, and our relationship with the body. Each creation is an immersion into a unique universe, where the intimate dialogues with the collective to reveal universal narratives. With projects such as EVE88, which revisits the myth of Eve through the prism of the collective unconscious and invisible bonds, and VENUS555, a work that questions the conditioning of women's bodies and is inspired by the writings of Audre Lorde, MaisonM reaffirms its ambition to redefine the boundaries of live performance. Through residencies at prestigious institutions such as the CCN in Créteil, KLAP in Marseille, the CN D, and La Villette, MaisonM develops works combining movement, video, and immersive installation, creating multisensory artistic experiences that invite the viewer to question, feel, and participate. At the same time, MaisonM is actively involved in educational and participatory activities, notably through artistic workshops in schools and hospitals. These initiatives extend the company's somatic approach and reinforce its vision of art as a vehicle for well-being, inclusion, and social transformation.

With MaisonM, Emanuelle Soum offers a contemporary vision of movement, rooted in the realities of our time and exploring the human and political issues surrounding the body. The company positions itself as a bold artistic laboratory, creating works that resonate deeply with today's challenges.
